プール型ナトリウム冷却高速炉の概念設計研究を行っている。本検討では、日本の地震対策、原子炉容器の熱流動、崩壊熱除去システムの設計などの主な課題の報告を行う。日本に650MWeのタンク型ナトリウム炉が設置される場合、厳しい地震に対する設計が必要で、原子炉構造を強化している。また、新たに3次元免震システムの開発も進めている。
